The Dirty Dozen

Sorry guys, I seem to have the dominant control of this blogsite and blame it to my being a techie of sort. So I tend to post more often here and enjoy the liberty of writing anything that pleases me, er, everybody. But what else do you expect from someone who created this blogsite in the first place? Of course, try to keep this virtual journal going. Otherwise, nobody won’t care to read our blog. Worst of all, they will forever ignore us. God, forbid!

Dirty Dozen

The Dirty Dozen (foreground, left to right): Boy Mondragon; Tanny Alpuerto; Nilo Villaflor; Anselmo Marimbao; Boy Moreno; (standing, left to right) Rudy Monleon; Desiderio Benitez; Gabe Deligerio; Leah Villegas; Mr. Ven Jayme; Mar Carloman; Jorge Ocaña. Also in the photo includes Mr. Dabucol of DA Animal Husbandry, extreme left foreground; and two other new lady members, standing in the background.

It was funny to note that our association has a roster of more than a hundred members but only less than fifteen of us know our membership. I don’t know what happen to those guys since the formation of our association in July of 2006. Whether they lost their cellphones or simply ignored our texts and calls, we can’t surmise as to the reasons of their inability to give us a feedback just to give us a hint of life.

Anyways, here we are. Many were called but only few were chosen.

Actually, the original set of elected officers perform their duties as expected of them wholeheartedly.

A man who likes to be called ‘boy’ by his friends, is our very energetic and able president Mr. Rogelio “Boy” Moreno. Unlike most of the people with similar position, he never let his members wait everytime we have a meeting. On the contrary, he’s one of the few who come to the meeting earlier than the agreed time. He is a natural leader and never ever missed a meeting, that he himself called. He religiously perform his duty with gusto.

The charming and only lady of the Dirty Dozen, Lea, our Secretary, seems to love writing. She loves her job so much that she deligently acts as the texter of the gang everytime a meeting is called. She never misses a beat when it comes to jotting down minutes of meeting. Quite amazing I should say.

Then there’s Mr. Mar Carloman, our tennis buff and active Treasurer, who never tires of counting how much he has collected in his pocket. Does it make any difference if he collects deuce in tennis and not dues from the members? Figure out Mr. Treasurer before you hit the first ball! Didn’t I mention also that he facilitated the registration of COFGA to the SEC? That’s a real helluva job!

I intentionally skip this hefty guy who is the ‘big voice’ of the association but seems like I’ll lose my momentum, figuratively speaking, if I didn’t. Mr. Anselmo Marimbao, our Vice-President, is an amiable person everybody likes to be in company with. He has an indefatigable spirit and loves to talk (literally for hours if given the chance) and speaks his mind with a dash of wit and candour. Oh, I shouldn’t forget that this man doesn’t have an ear for music alone but he also has the gift of music. He’s a voice teacher.

Mr. Vin Jayme, our Auditor, is one such guy who has a deep sense of humor and the most business-minded person among us. He continuously delights us with his wit and he has an impressive knowledge in any subject under the sun. His interest in farming started only recently, only himself knows why.

The only engineer of the group, Mr. Nilo Villaflor is an enterprising guy. He is one of our two Press Relations Officers (PRO). Although a Mechanical Engineer by profession, he also loves farming. He has a large tract of land that sits idle for years that causeed him to resign from work and wants to focus on how can he make use of this valuable resource to his advantage.

The other members are Mr. Antonio Alpuerto, Mr. Desiderio Benitez, Mr. Gabriel Deligerio, Mr. Jorge Matiga, Mr. Boy Mondragon, Mr. Rodulfo Monleon, and this author.
